William Jacques, Minister to Students

William and Angela Jacques
Email address: wjacques@carolina.rr.com

I was born in Charleston, SC in 1980.  I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home where I began to follow Christ at 11 years old.  While I did not know all it meant to follow Christ, I knew I needed him in my life.  Out of high school I went to Charleston Southern University where I majored in Youth Ministry.  I am currently enrolled at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary working towards my Masters of Divinity.  My wife, Angela, is such a great partner to me in life and in ministry.  We have one son, Will, that is a great joy to have in our lives.  We came to Cornerstone in February of 2008 and are very excited about what God has in store for the church and the teenagers of our community!

What book are you reading now?

The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, Let the Nations Be Glad by John Piper, and a biography on a missionary named William Carey.

Where do you hope to experience Spiritual Growth in the coming year?

I am praying for wisdom and discernment as we embark on some new areas and journeys in ministry with our youth.

What do you appreciate most about the people of Cornerstone?

I really appreciate the people’s servant’s heart.  In the people involved in my ministry and others here, there are always people willing to serve.

What is on your IPod right now?

I listen to a lot of podcasts of sermons and leadership teachings.  Music wise I listen to a lot of Hillsong, Bluetree, and Chris Tomlin on my iPhone. J

What was your most memorable vacation?

As a kid it was going to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.  Now I enjoy getting away with my family to my parents mountain house in Lake Lure, NC.

What is your favorite thing to do in Charlotte?

I love living in Charlotte.  Two of my favorite things about Charlotte are the sports and the restaurants.  I love to pull for the Panthers and Bobcats and enjoy going to games when I can.  My wife and I also love to eat out at all the great places to eat.  We love to eat Mexican food.
